I think it's important to suss out what kind of traveller you are. I know that I'm not the backpacker/hostel type of traveller so I don't force myself to do it that way and end up not enjoying it. Some people love that style of travelling. I can't afford to be lavish either so it's about customizing my own trip. There are many, many options available to travellers. One just has to be diligent in doing the homework to be able to afford travel. I'm also the type who doesn't mind paying entrance fees for the places I want to see but I balk at shopping. Often, people are incredulous that I didn't do a whole load of shopping when I travel but I hate shopping and spending on stuff like clothes, bags, shoes etc. I use my budget for entrance fees, splurging on the local cuisine at least a couple of times per city and for buying little souvenirs for myself and loved ones. ![]() This post has been edited by Blue07: Jan 24 2010, 01:08 PMÄue to certain circumstances that changed my life back in year end 2010, I started to travel alot in the year 2011. I spent about 8k to travel around SEA countries in year 2011 alone (2k each trip). ![]() I visited 4 different countries with the 8k alone, which excluding my business trip to Beijing. In short, I visited 5 different countries in year 2011 alone and I think I started to get addicted with traveling. Eventually I realised that I can even travel with small little amount of budget and mind you, I don't earn alot (averagely and able to live comfortably) I wasn't traveling much back then due to financial constraint and personal circumstances. ![]() I had lots of fun, I learnt alot and I made new friends along the journey. Some say, I can even do better, visit more places and countries with the budget that I've spent and I told them, well, I will learn from my mistakes then (part and parcel of life ) I must say that I realised there's whole lot of new world out there waiting for you to discover. Since I got addicted to travels, I have few plans in queue for the year 2012.
